Spread the cost with a monthly Direct Debit
You can spread the cost of your energy by setting up a Direct Debit, which will allow you to pay a fixed amount monthly.
To set up a Direct Debit, you’ll need to be is the account holder of a bank account. You’ll also need to make sure you have an online account set up with us. If not, registering for one is quick and simple.
If you choose a monthly Direct Debit, we'll use the consumption information for your home along with with the price of your energy to set this for a value that spreads the cost over 12 months. Your monthly or quarterly statements will show you how much energy you have used and include your payments. You'll notice that in some statements your energy costs will exceed your payments made, usually during winter months and vice versa during summer.
We'll regularly review your Direct Debit payments and let you know if something needs to change.
Paying by Direct Debit with British Gas means you will benefit from a cheaper tariff.
Spread the cost with a Regular payment scheme
You can choose to make regular monthly or fortnightly payments towards your energy costs. We’ll provide you with a payment schedule and you can make these payments in line with your schedule by bank, online, by phone or in person. You’ll find details of all our ways to pay on a Regular Payment Scheme in your statement.
