New Boiler Energy Bill Credit Offer Terms and Conditions
This offer is available to domestic customers only (including landlords) and for a maximum of 9 properties (whether as homeowner or landlord).
To qualify for this offer an individual must:
Purchase a boiler installation for their property by accepting a quote that was produced by British Gas from 3rd February to 17th February, 2025 (the “Offer Period”) AND
Switch to a British Gas fixed energy tariff at the same property within the Offer Period.Customers who are already on a British Gas fixed energy tariff (gas and/or electricity) at the installation address will also be eligible for this offer without switching to another fixed energy tariff.
The total credit will be paid in two stages. A credit of £50 will be made to the customer’s energy account once the customer has been on their new fixed tariff for at least 60 days after switching. A further credit of £150 will be made to the customer’s energy account up to 4 weeks after their boiler installation has been completed. Existing British Gas customers who are already on a fixed energy tariff will receive a single credit of £200 once their boiler installation has been completed.
Each credit payment will appear on the customer’s next bill after payment is made, which shall show the applicable account credit.
A quote for a boiler installation can be obtained either online, via the British Gas website, or during an in-home visit by one of our Heating Advisers. To qualify for the energy bill credit, a customer must obtain their quote during the Offer Period. However, the boiler may be installed after the Offer Period.
To be eligible for the bill credit the boiler installation quote must be accepted within its 28-day validity period.
The bill credit cannot be exchanged for cash, in full or in part, and cannot be combined with other British Gas Energy offers or boiler offers (unless specified by British Gas), or any external promotions such as cashback or affiliate offers.
British Gas reserves the right to refuse or remove a credit if we believe the claim was fraudulent, the offer was misused, or it was applied for business or commercial purposes and cancel or amend the terms of this promotion at any time.
Other Terms:
If your energy account is closed when we attempt to apply a credit, you will not receive it.
British Gas reserves the right to withdraw the offer if there is evidence of fraud, misuse, or failure to meet these terms.These Terms and Conditions prevail in the event of any conflict or inconsistency with any other communications, including advertising or promotional materials.

What is the bill credit offer?
This offer rewards British Gas customers with a £200 energy bill credit when they:
- Purchase a boiler installation with British Gas AND

When buying your boiler, tell us you want the offer, and our Energy team will call within a week to guide you through the switching process.
Who is eligible for the offer?
You are eligible if you:
- Receive a boiler installation quote between February 3rd till 17th and accept it within 28 days
- Switch to any British Gas fixed energy tariff during the offer period stated above
Note: After buying the boiler, wait till you receive a call from our Energy team before making the tariff switch. If your boiler quote is received during the offer period, you remain eligible even if our Energy team calls you for the tariff switch after February 17th.
Does my home visit need to take place during the offer period?
No, if you book your appointment within the offer period, you qualify—even if the visit takes place after the 17th of February.
What if my boiler quote is valid beyond the offer period?
If you receive your quote during the offer period, you’ll still qualify if you accept the quote within its 28-day validity window.
What if I am already a British Gas Energy customer?
- Fixed Tariff: You are eligible for the bill credit if you purchase a boiler during the offer period. You don’t need to take any action. Your bill credit will be automatically applied
- Variable Tariff: You’ll need to switch to a fixed tariff to become eligible for the bill credit
What if I use a prepayment meter?
Prepayment meter customers are eligible for the offer, provided they remain on supply for 3 months after the boiler installation.
How will I receive the bill credit?
The £200 energy bill credit will be automatically applied to your energy account within 90 days after:
- Your boiler installation is fully completed
- Your fixed energy tariff has been active for at least 60 days
You do not need to contact us to receive the credit.
The bill credit will be applied in two parts:
- £50: After being on a fixed tariff for 60 days
- £150: Once the boiler installation is complete
Credit meters
- For credit meter customers, the credit will be posted to your account and appear as a line item on your next bill
- Dual fuel customers will receive the credit on one of their accounts (usually the electricity account)
Prepayment meters
Customers with a prepayment meter will be credited as follows;
- Smart Meters - Customers will have their credit directly applied to their account
- Non-Smart Meters – Credit will normally be applied onto their top up method when they top up. The customer may need to; i ) top up more than £5, ii) top up with the same vendor on 2 separate occasions for the Credit to appear on their meter
- The credit will show on a line item on the annual statement
Can I combine this offer with other promotions?
No, this offer cannot be combined with other promotions or discounts (excluding British Gas employee offers).
