Meet our Great British athlete

Thanks to our partnership with Team GB and ParalympicsGB, we’re helping people across Britain save energy. And we are working with Ellie Simmonds to help.

Ellie Simmonds OBE, swimmer

Ellie is one of the most recognised faces in paralympic sporting history, with a total of five gold medals, 14 World titles, 10 European titles and countless world records to her name.

The youngest member of ParalympicsGB at Bejing 2008, Ellie won two medals aged just 13 before becoming the youngest-ever winner of the BBC Sports Personality Award later that year. But the accolades didn’t stop there. She went on to pick up four World Championship titles in 2010, another four medals (including two golds) at London 2012, and yet another gold medal at Rio 2016. Ellie retired from swimming after the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games and has gone on to enjoy a successful TV career.

Ellie’s One Small Change: ‘I use my radiators really selectively in my house. So if there’s a room I’m not using that much, I turn the radiators off.’
