Are you a resident of Rose Hill or Iffley in Oxford looking to make a positive change towards cleaner, more sustainable living?

Look no further than the Clean Heat Streets initiative supported by British Gas. This ground-breaking project aims to transition households from traditional gas boilers to modern, energy-efficient heat pumps.

What is Clean Heat Streets?

Clean Heat Streets is a government-funded initiative tailored specifically for residents of Rose Hill and Iffley in Oxford. It is designed to promote the adoption of clean and sustainable heat pump technology. Collaborating with Oxford University and Oxford Brookes University, the initiative offers research and data analytic support to make sure it’s a success.

How does Clean Heat Streets work?

Clean Heat Streets provides residents with discounted heat pumps and support throughout the installation process. By making the switch, participants contribute to reducing carbon emissions and improving air quality in their communities.

Additionally, the initiative aims to demonstrate the feasibility of large-scale heat pump installations without putting pressure on the local electricity network.

Introducing the British Gas type of use tariff trial

As part of our commitment to sustainable energy solutions, British Gas is partnering with Samsung to launch a demand side response (DSR) trial for participants of Clean Heat Streets.

By monitoring and adjusting the operation of heat pumps, we aim to optimise energy usage during off-peak hours. As a thank you for taking part in our trial, customers could save up to £387 on their energy bills.1

Benefits of joining the trial

Participants who are British Gas electricity customers and own eligible Samsung heat pumps can enjoy significant savings on their energy bills. Through our trial, the electricity used by your heat pump is offered at half price, credited directly to your account. The trial period extends until 31st March 2025, providing ample opportunity to experience the benefits first-hand.

How to take part

Are you ready to join the movement towards clean, sustainable heating solutions? To participate in the trial, you just need to own an eligible Samsung heat pump and be a British Gas electricity customer.

Visit the Clean Heat Streets website to learn more about the trial and how you can get involved.

Even if you're not in Oxford...

While Clean Heat Streets is currently focused on Rose Hill and Iffley in Oxford, the benefits of low-carbon heat pumps extend beyond geographical boundaries. If you're not located in Oxford but are interested in reducing your carbon footprint and saving money with a heat pump, we offer heating solutions tailored to your needs.
